DCE Global Student Experience

Through the Harvard Summer School and Harvard Extension School Certificate Programs, undergraduate and graduate visiting students from around the world embark on a truly immersive and transformative academic journey. Through the DCE Global Partnership Program, students from DCE Global partner institutions can study abroad at Harvard during the summer. Open to eligible undergraduate and graduate students, the program offers a unique academic and cultural experience at one of the world’s leading universities.

Graduate Certificate Programs
Advance Your Academic Journey with Harvard Extension School Graduate Certificates
Harvard Extension School offers a range of graduate certificate programs designed for students from DCE Global partner institutions who wish to extend their summer studies and deepen their academic and professional expertise.
Each certificate typically consists of four graduate-level courses and is available in high-impact fields such as Corporate Sustainability and Innovation, International Relations, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Organizational Behavior, and Strategic Management. These programs provide students the opportunity to gain specialized knowledge while earning academic credit from Harvard.
Courses are delivered online or in a flexible hybrid format, allowing students to engage with Harvard’s world-class curriculum from anywhere in the world, combining academic rigor with global accessibility.

Meet the team driving this global vision forward:

Thomas Garriepy – Senior International Officer
Tom Garriepy serves as the Senior International Officer at DCE, where he leads strategic global initiatives to expand access to Harvard’s continuing education programs. In this role, he champions the Division’s mission to broaden higher education opportunities and enhance the institution’s capacity to serve a diverse, international student population.
With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, Tom oversees the development of global partnerships, the design of impactful academic programs, and the cultivation of a vibrant worldwide learning community. He and his team are committed to creating future-focused pathways for learners around the globe.
Tom holds a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Maine and an M.B.A. from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

Kathleen Rodriguez Dietzel – Assistant Director of International Partnerships & Outreach
With a strong background in international education, Kathleen is committed to enhancing study abroad opportunities and expanding access to global learning experiences. At DCE, she has been instrumental in advancing DCE Global’s international partnership network, broadening the reach of Harvard’s summer programs to institutions and students worldwide.
Drawing on her experience in both U.S. and international higher education, Kathleen offers a unique, cross-cultural perspective on global engagement. At Harvard, she continues to develop innovative, high-impact programs that align with DCE’s mission to make world-class education accessible to learners around the globe.
Kathleen holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a dual M.A. in International Relations and International Communication from Boston University.

Hiep Vu – Student Engagement Coordinator
Hiep Vu’s role at DCE Global is to support the operations of its International Partnership Program and enhance the experience of international learners. Prior to joining Harvard, he served as Vice Principal and Program Coordinator at Pennsylvania American International School, where he led student services, oversaw academic programs, and advanced initiatives to support international student success and college readiness. He brings a strong cross-cultural lens to his work, with experience in international school leadership, academic program coordination, and global education engagement.
Hiep holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University and a master’s degree in Human Development, with a concentration in Higher Education, from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
