Business communication training seminar

Persuasive written and oral communication skills are essential to career advancement in nearly every management profession. Learn to write and present persuasively, in a way that inspires action, in this two-day business communication training seminar.
Sessions are a mix of hands-on exercises, discussions, lectures, and small group projects. We use “real life” situations, as well as case studies from the wine industry, as the basis for exploring and applying communication skills.
What you will learn
- How to tailor communications to different audiences
- How to develop a compelling story line that leads the audience to a logical conclusion
- How to create “killer charts” in PowerPoint, and how to write simply and clearly in other formats
- How to communicate in other forums, for example, in crisis situations or through social media
Topics covered

- Analyzing your audience
- The underlying principles of inductive and deductive reasoning in structuring communications
- The importance of synthesizing information, versus summarizing
- PowerPoint best practices
- Crisis communications
- Social media communications
Who should enroll
Anyone who wishes to improve his or her written and oral communications can benefit from this business communication training class. There are no prerequisites, but experience in writing and presenting in a business setting is helpful. Facility with the English language is assumed.
